Farid Abboud - The Knowledge to Succeed

Farid Abboud currently works as an Ambassador for Lebanon and continues to guest lecture and perform interviews. Before his role as Ambassador, Farid Abboud also held a variety of other positions that made him capable to take on the role of ambassador. To start, he worked as a Lebanon Lecturer in the Political Sciences at the University of St. Joseph in Beirut on and off for four years and then worked as Lebanon’s delegate at the Israel-Lebanon Monitoring Group. He then worked as a Deputy Director in the Department of Political Affairs for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs followed by a season of being a visiting scholar for Peking University in Beijing, China. He believes in the process of receiving knowledge and then sharing it with those interested in learning.

Farid Abboud, Education and Fluency

In order to succeed in a career of being an ambassador, certain skills and education are needed. When Farid Abboud decided this was the career path he wanted to pursue, he started with an academic education. He began at the University of Lyon in Lyon, France, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy in 1974. Farid Abboud then attended the University of St. Joseph and graduated first with a second Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science in 1974 and then a Master’s of Arts in Political Science in 1975. Shortly after that, he earned his Ph.D in History from University of California, Los Angeles in 1995. In addition to his academic degrees, Farid Abboud also speaks English, Arabic, French and Italian fluently.
